Brave New Standards

There have been a few things we've been working on since our last blog post, most importantly the conversion to HTML 5. We decided to make this change not only to conform with the latest web standards and markup, but to standardize our site completely so we're ready when more and more of the web moves to this new revision of HTML.

Since older HTML tags will soon be deprecated, we wanted to make sure that our website looks exactly the same no matter who or what web browser is viewing the Likwid Reality Designs' home page. As you probably know, the vast network of "pipes" (known as the Internet) is clogged with hideous websites and bloated code. You can consider us "plumbers" of the web, who maintain clear and concise coding practices that don't stop up your bandwidth "sink".

All puns aside, we constantly do our part to make the web a cleaner place. Every single site we build shares the same obsession with perfection as our own and we always strive to be the best possible web designers around. We do this by keeping up with new technologies and learning more efficient coding practices as they become available.

We've also added more CSS 3 visual effects and jQuery functionality to our site. Applying these new language attributes has been a blast and it's expanded our arsenal of web design. This ultimately allows us to build better looking and more functional websites across the board.

If you or your business needs a great website or an update to an existing one, please let us know and we'll talk shop.

LRD Version 2.0

Likwid Reality Designs has been in business for over 6 years now and we were long overdue for some positive changes. During the past few months we completely dissected our old website and decided it was way too big, outdated and just plain confusing. To be honest, I hated the site and thought it directly affected our revenue stream. Since we were facing an economic standstill, we went ahead and re-designed it from the ground up. Our home page is so much better now and we think you'll like it. Please go take a look. :-)

Version 2.0 features a brand new visual appearance with a neutral, earth-tone color scheme of light blue and brown. These colors are pleasing to the eye and go very well together... unlike our previous version which had too much contrast. We also consolidated our service offerings and added prices so there's no more guessing on how much something costs. All the fine print is in its place as well; away from what's important but still accessible to those who need it.

We've added AJAX functionality everywhere, made use of new properties included in CSS 3 and even came up with some new promotional buttons. You may have noticed the fresh theme of this blog too. It was coded to match our new site and compliment it instead of break the visual flow from page to page. I used a lot of the same styling on this blog as I did on the new website.

In conclusion, we've learned a lot from our past mistakes and are constantly trying to get better at what we do. Not only for ourselves, but more importantly for our existing and potential clients. As we've said from the beginning, we are here to build a better web, one website at a time.

Don't forget to write a comment at the bottom of this post. We'd love to hear from you and would appreciate any type of feedback on our new site!
